Formatic have been spending some time on side projects over the last few months. Kate has been asked to add her touch once again to Robbie Rivera's new album which is due out in October, and Nik has been working on some TV music. Formatic are back however, with some new tracks which you can hear at the Myspace page.

Fans have alerted us to some distribution problems regarding the digital download of the State Of Play EP. This is apparently due to software problems with the company dealing with digital distribution. At the moment only the radio edit is available but the other tracks should be up by the end of the week. Thanks for your patience!

Forthcoming single State Of Play will be featuring on 'Robopop - The Return', a compilation of all that's good in electronic music at the moment. The album will be out on Planet Clique next month and will feature the likes of Goldfrapp, The Modern, and The Knife among others. Further details to follow.

Another lengthy gap has passed between news updates so to sum up the last couple of months: Nik has been busy rebuilding 65a and getting to grips with the new equipment. He & Kate are currently in there recording the many home demos that have built up during the rebuilding!

Despite the general consensus being that it had peaked, Over To You has actually crept up to number 8 in the club chart today and is still the only white label in the top 20 (the next nearest being no29). It's also shot up to 9 on the DMC chart.

Over To You has gone up to number 9 in the club chart and is currently the only white label release in the top 20. The single has entered the DMC chart at 21. DJ and club reaction has been fantastic.

It's been a while since the last update so to kick things off: Kate & Nik have been writing and recording with various artists in the dance world such as Cicada, Plastic Dreams, and most recently Alex Gold as well as a few embryonic projects. We'll keep you up to date on any developements with these collaborations.

Kate & Nik have just contributed the theme tune to a new 16 part MTV network show called 'BSTV'. The show will be aired throughout all the major territories in the world starting in May.

Formatic have been in the studio this week with top producer/engineer (and top bloke) Dave Bascombe working on a "7 mix of Day Will Come. Dave's worked with the likes of Peter Gabriel, Depeche Mode, Tears For Fears, Erasure etc. etc. Also working on the session, supplying the excellent studio, and the excellent hospitality was Martyn Phillips. Equally top producer (and top bloke), Martyn's done great work with the likes of Erasure and The Beloved etc. so it's safe to say the band were in good hands. The resulting mix sounds pretty fine by the way.
